What will this Measure do?
This Measure offers new and existing businesses/organisations/groups an opportunity to develop, promote or expand basic rural services.
This programme offers service providers and communities an opportunity to develop innovative, tailor made solutions that meet service provision needs at a local level.

 Why?
To improve the access to and provision of rural services

Who can benefit?
Applications are invited from the private sector, social economy sector, public bodies and community-based (not for profit) organisations

Please note: This is a competitive programme.

 What type of projects can be supported?
Contact Project Officer for advice on eligibility.

Examples of project could include:

  • Outreach work providing access to a wide range of services (health & well being; education; benefits; jobs; financial and debt counselling)
  • ‘Door-step’ delivery of a range of services
  • ICT Services which provide access to information on housing; healthcare; benefits; jobs; financial and debt counselling; education or other services to rural communities
  • Sharing of equipment and premises in order to deliver value for money services
  • Better or multiple usage of existing or new community buildings or other public facilities in providing access to a wide range of services e.g. housing a number of key services such as healthcare; training; IT; childcare; library; community shop; pharmacy or other service provisions in the one building.

1. Technical support for business plans or feasibility plans to help new businesses become established and to help existing businesses consolidate and expand and for bespoke training directly related to project applications( which is not on offer from any other provider ) and for marketing support

2. Grant aid towards capital and resource costs Up to 50% ( Private Sector) £40,000
Up to 75% (Social Economy Sector) £240,000

You can top up the maximum grant to £50,000 if you add an approved maximum £10,000 renewable energy element to your project.
