What will this Measure do?
This Measure will provide support to members of farm households who wish to diversify into non-agricultural activities for the first time. Projects must be based on a farm. Expansions to existing farm diversification projects will also be considered under this measure. Projects based off-farms are ineligible under this measure but may be eligible under the 3.2 Measure.

Why?
In order to maintain or increase the income of the farm households and create employment opportunities. 30% of all NI farms are located in this Cluster (7,984 farms).

Who can benefit?
By members of a farm household we mean any member of the farm household who derives benefit from the farm or who contributes to the household income.

Please note: This is a competitive programme.

  • Innovative services
  • Traditional skills
  • Equestrian services
  • Crafts
  • Recycling facilities
  • Renewable energy initiatives (as part of a larger project)

1. Technical support for business plans or feasibility plans to help new businesses become established and to help existing businesses consolidate and expand and for bespoke training directly related to project applications( which is not on offer from any other provider ) and for marketing support

2. Grant aid towards capital and resource costs Up to 50% ( Private Sector) £40,000
   

You can top up the maximum grant to £50,000 if you add an approved maximum £10,000 renewable energy element to your project.
